Escola de Samba Canberra is a sister school of Escola de Samba Sydney - Australia's foremost dedicated Brazilian dance school. Escola de Samba Sydney was founded in 2016 and is renowned as the international leader in Brazilian dance education. The Escola community also includes Escola de Samba Adelaide and Escola de Samba Denver, USA.

Escola Sydney offers a signature 6 level syllabus of Samba no pé and provides both studio classes in Sydney as well as an extensive online training program, the "Online Studio" with courses, drills packs, and an exclusive Samba Membership.

Escola de Samba Canberra was founded to bring authentic Brazilian dance education to Canberra and aligns with the principles, syllabus, technique, and teaching methods of Escola de Samba Sydney.


We are dedicated to the integrity of Brazilian dance education. We are passionate about sharing our experience and love for Brazilian dance culture with all our students and nurturing them to grow and be their best dance selves!



Escola de Samba Canberra was founded by Escola Sydney director, Sashya Jay and Canberra Brazilian Passista and instructor, Loren Da Silva Linke.

Sashya Jay is an internationally acclaimed Brazilian dance director, choreographer, and artist. She is the only instructor based in Australia officially endorsed by Brazil’s “King of Samba” Carlinhos Salgueiro, to teach his signature technique. She is also the director of the revered Brazilian show ensemble, Rio Projekt and the Samba Internacional organisation.

Loren Da Silva Linke is a highly respected Brazilian dance performer and instructor in the Canberra community. From Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Loren has been a Passista in Rio Carnaval with Imperio Serrano and is dedicated to representing the art and culture of Brazil with the utmost integrity.



The Escola is affiliated with Samba Internacional

Founded in 2016, the objective of Samba Internacional is to foster the integrity of Brazilian Samba culture globally. Samba Internacional has an educational YouTube channel and offers annual tours to Brazil to parade in Rio Carnaval. Samba Internacional also presented the Australia Samba Congress (2018 and 2019).
